Department for Education: results day moves to the Education Record app
The Department for Education is moving GCSE and A-level results to the GOV.UK Education Record app. We briefed study creators to tell students that the way they get their results is changing.

The brief
- Objective
- Make sixteen to eighteen year olds aware that GCSE and A-level results are moving to the GOV.UK Education Record app, so they know what to expect on results day and where to find their results.
- Audience
- Students in England sitting GCSEs and A-levels, plus recent school leavers who follow study content and remember their own results day.
- Message
- The way you get your GCSE and A-level results is changing. Download the Education Record app and your results will be there, and stay there, when you need them.
What TapLab did
A government announcement reaches students faster when it comes from the people they already revise with. We cast StudyTok creators, among them tillystudytips, pcfgstudy, Dylan Brown and Lurkiii, whose followers are the students sitting these exams, and had them react to the change in their own words.
Every post went live on the same day, so the news arrived from several directions at once, and most creators framed the app as the thing they wish they had had on their own results day. The content ran on TikTok, tagged to GOV.UK.
